Roland Dorcely

Born in Port-au-prince, Haiti, on 1930. He left the "Centre d'Art"in 1950 with some others to have their own gallery, the "Foyer des Arts Plastiques".

Dorcely's murals are highly prized. With exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe, his works hang in the Museum of Modern Art, N.Y.C., and in the collection of John Hopkins III, A. Roosevelt, N. Rockefeller, and others.

After seven years in Paris, he decided to come back and live in Haiti in 1969.
